FAQ
Who owns Pacos & where are the socks made?
Pacos was founded by a young entrepreneur from New Zealand, inspired by the unmatched qualities of alpaca fibre and its potential to redefine premium natural clothing. With a vision to create high-quality, sustainable alternatives to synthetic fabrics, we started with socks—just the beginning of what’s to come. As demand for natural fibres grows, Pacos is committed to leading the way. Our trusted manufacturing partner in China was chosen for their world-class expertise in alpaca textiles, ensuring every product meets our high standards. This is just the start—stay tuned for what’s next! 👀
Where is your alpaca wool sourced?
Our alpaca wool is ethically sourced from South America, where alpacas roam freely across the highlands much like sheep do in New Zealand. This region is home to the most mature and established alpaca wool industry in the world. Alpacas are shorn just once a year, typically in spring — a completely humane process that is essential for their wellbeing, helping them avoid overheating in warmer months. The wool is then carefully cleaned, spun, and crafted into our premium socks. Unlike synthetic fibers, alpaca wool is a natural and sustainable material that offers outstanding warmth, breathability, and comfort.
Who are Pacos alpaca socks for?
Pacos socks are for people who want one sock to do it all — from days on the trails to lazy Sundays.
We’ve taken the ultimate natural fibre, alpaca, and crafted a sock that’s built for hardcore use — but soft enough for everyday lounging.
Thanks to alpaca’s incredible temperature regulation, moisture-wicking power, and cloud-like softness, these are seriously the best everyday socks — tough enough for any outdoor adventure, soft enough for Sunday mornings.
Ideal for:
✔ Hikers & runners – Breathable, warm, and blister-fighting for all terrains and trails.
✔ Trade & outdoor workers – Durable comfort that holds up in boots and long days.
✔ Everyday wearers – Luxuriously soft, itch-free, and warmer than wool.
✔ Loungers & cold-foot haters – Your go-to for chilly mornings and cozy nights.
✔ Anyone with sensitive skin – No lanolin = no itch, just pure, silky comfort.
Whether you're off on a mission or kicking back at home — Pacos are built for it.

How does the sizing guide work?
Our sizing guide is simple:
- Large fits Men's US sizes 6-8 and Women's US sizes 6 - 9.
- X-Large fits Men's US sizes 9-12 and Women's US sizes 10 - 13.
Choose Large if you're within the smaller size range, and X-Large for the larger range.
Half Size? We Recommend Sizing Up.
Why is alpaca better than merino wool?
Alpaca socks outperform merino in key areas: they’re warmer, softer, and more durable. Alpaca fibres are naturally water-resistant and wick moisture better, keeping your feet dry and comfortable in any condition. Plus, they’re hypoallergenic and don’t retain odors like merino wool. For the ultimate blend of luxury and practicality, alpaca socks are simply unbeatable.
Are you going to make more alpaca related products?
Pacos launched late last year with our flagship alpaca socks, and we’re just getting started! As our brand grows, we plan to expand into a full line of alpaca fibre products, offering the same quality and comfort across a variety of natural, sustainable items. Stay tuned—there’s much more to come!
Can I return the socks if I don’t like them?
Yes! We have a 30-day return/exchange policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
